Chinese Fish & Tofu Stew Recipe (Chinese Style Cooking Recipe)

Welcome to Xiao’s Kitchen. My name is Xiao Wei, ever since my Mother taught me how to cook at a early age, I have always had a strong passion for Cooking. My family still live in Inner Mongolia in the northern part of China, where I visit each year and pick-up new Asian/Chinese recipes.

300g white fish fillet
300g tofu
2 spring onions
3 cloves garlic
1cm ginger
Half Tsp red peppercorn
500g fish or chicken stock
2 egg white
Salt to your taste

1. Finely chop the spring onions, garlic and ginger.
2. Cut tofu into 0.5cm slices.
3. Cut fish into 1 inch chunks.
4. Heat 2 Tbsp oil in the wok.
5. Fry fish after dipping in egg white evenly for 2 minutes then remove from wok.
6. Add red peppercorn, half of the spring onion, garlic and ginger. Fry for a minute.
7. Add fish into the wok and fry for few seconds.
8. Add stock and bring to the boil.
9. Add tofu and the remaining garlic, ginger, spring onion and salt.
10.Turn heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
11.Transfer onto a dish, garnish and serve.
